HUDSON, WI – Here are the upcoming Willow River State Park and Kinnickinnic State Park classes and events.

Willow River State Park Nature Classes: Come to the Nature Center this summer with your child(ren) who are 3-12 years of age. We will have fun, nature-based classes available for one hour on either Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays depending on ages. Come to one or come to all dates. Pre-registration required.

  • ST. PAUL, MN — The American Red Cross is counting on volunteer donors to give blood and help ensure patient needs can be met this summer.

    Around Memorial Day, the Red Cross sees a steep decline in blood donations. Busy summer schedules, vacations and school breaks also cause a drop in donations. Accidents and medical emergencies don’t take a summer break – patients need blood every minute, every day.

  • RIVER FALLS, WI – St Croix Valley Master Gardeners (SCVMG) will hear about biological insect control for home gardens at the Thursday, May 24, 2018 meeting. 

    Heidi Doering will discuss ways other than chemical insecticides to control insects and disease in ornamental and vegetable gardens by putting beneficial enemies such as parasitic wasps, beneficial nematodes and other natural enemies to work to control bad bugs in your yard and garden.
  • BALDWIN, WI – The Windmill Piecemaker’s Quilt Guild will be meeting on Monday, May 21, 2018 at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Baldwin, Wisconsin.

The meeting will feature professional genealogist and speaker, Paula Stuart-Warren. Bring your questions, especially those that relate to brick-wall problems, and ask a professional. Paula should be able to give you direction to take your research to the next level. Even if you have no questions to ask, this is always a very informative session.
