BALDWIN, WI – Sentinel Publications on June 27 purchased the “Baldwin Bulletin,” the newspaper announced. Sentinel Publications, which is owned by Carter Johnson, also includes the “Amery Free Press,” the “Osceola Sun,” the (Grantsburg) “Burnett County Sentinel” and the (Minn.) “Country Messenger.”

  • Two B-W Fastpitch teams receive prestigious Youth 1st Team Award

    OWATONNA, MN – The Baldwin-Woodville 10U and 12U Softball teams have been selected by the Lakeville Fastpitch Softball Association in partnership with Youth 1st, along with several business sponsors and the Minnesota Twins Community Fund as the recipient of a Youth 1st Team Award for their outstanding sportsmanship during the 2018 Lakeville Classic Tournament.

    BALDWIN, WI – Baldwin resident, Lisa Knutson, was impressed with community herb gardens she saw when visiting Norway last year.  She passed the idea on to Tracy Carlson, Baldwin’s Village Administrator, who shared the idea with the Botany Belles & Beaus Garden Club.

    RIVER FALLS, WI – Tenth District State Senator Patty Schachtner whose District includes Woodville and Department of Agriculture, Trade along with Consumer Protection (DATCP) Secretary Sheila Harsdorf visited the University of Wisconsin River Falls (UWRF) College of Agriculture, Food Environmental Sciences to celebrate “Wisconsin Cheese Day” and present a Certificate of Appreciation from Gov. Walker “Honoring UW—River Falls Dairy Pilot Plant.”

    BALDWIN, WI – The Western Wisconsin Health (WW Health) Foundation hosted its inaugural Golf & Gala at the River Falls Golf Club on May 11, 2018.  WW Health is in its 17th year of golf scrambles but this was the first time an evening event had been held.

    BALDWIN, WI – The St. Croix County Recycling program, in cooperation with local municipalities, will be sponsoring a series of tire and appliance collections on Saturday, June 16, 2018. 

  • Western Wisconsin Health launches Telemedicine program

    BALDWIN, WI – Faced with a growing shortage of physicians, rural hospitals nationwide are using telemedicine to ensure consistent physician coverage, and now Western Wisconsin Health is the latest hospital to launch the innovative program. This program will go live at WW Health on Monday, May 28, 2018.

    BALDWIN, WI – Western Wisconsin Health is pleased to announce that we have several new providers that have joined our healthcare team. 

    On April 9, 2018, Kate Jones joined the team as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Kate Jones was awarded a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Nebraska.

    BALDWIN, WI – The rain poured down on Friday night shortly before the start of the Baldwin-Woodville High School (BWHS) Graduation ceremony. But that was a blessing as it broke the oppressive 90-degree heat. The sun came out to shine brightly as the band under the direction of Mr. Adam Bassak struck up the familiar “Fanfare and Processional, Pomp and Circumstance” by Elgar and “Jupiter Hymn From the Planets” by Holst.

  • Fire destroys local dairy barn and silos

    RURAL BALDWIN, WI – It has been reported that United Fire and Rescue responded to a fire call by a neighbor to the Zimmerman dairy farm in Rural Baldwin on Friday afternoon, May 18, 2018 around 4 p.m. where the barn and silo were engulfed in flames.

  • Greenfield second grade tours Western Wisconsin Health

    BALDWIN, WI – Western Wisconsin Health hosted tours for the second-grade classes at Greenfield Elementary School on Wednesday, May 2 and Thursday, May 3.
