BALDWIN, WI – The Color Dash 2018 was held recently at Baldwin-Woodville High School (BWHS) and the surrounding Baldwin neighborhood for a colorful walk/run.

According to the ColorDash website (http://cd5k.com/): “The Color Dash is an untimed family friendly 5k fun run/walk.  We welcome all shapes sizes, ages and abilities. Start white (we provide the Tee) and at each kilometer add blue, sprinkle green, splash yellow, spray orange, and finish strong in pink. We are here to share hearts & minds behind amazing charities while brightening your outlook on life through approx. 3.1 miles of laughter and fun… Our powdery-goodness is 100% non-toxic, food-grade cornstarch and coloring. We bring the color, you…
Let The Color Move You™.”

Jennifer Schommer, BWHS Spanish teacher provided some details about the Color Dash 2018 (and Keith Stuedemann provided the photographs).

Schommer said, “We had about 90 participants that ran and walked in this year’s Color Dash. There were 60 volunteers at the event that helped with registration, guides on the course, color tossers, food, and cheering on the participants. And we also had community members share their yards with us for tossing colors, a water station and placing encouragement signs in them.”

She also reported that SOS (Students Offering Support) and BWHS Staff and community volunteers were a part of the successful event.

“Zack Ambrose designed the course which was exactly a 5k. Officer Zach Paul connected us with the Baldwin Police and they were great to work with as we had the course on the residential streets of Baldwin,” Schommer stated about the 2018 Color Dash.

It is estimated, but too early to confirm an exact amount, that over $1,000 was raised in donations that will go to the St Croix Suicide Prevention Task Force.
