HUDSON, WI – Several local gals helped the Hudson Boosters - Raiders 14 U-B Fastpitch Blue team win 1st Place at the Tri-county State Qualifier Tournament. There were 39 teams competing in Farmington, Minnesota in this Fastpitch Softball Border Battle.

  • [Campus News:] Area students receive degrees from UW-River Falls

    RIVER FALLS, WI – The following local residents were among 744 students to receive degrees from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in May.

  • EAU CLAIRE, WI - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire awarded 1,292 degrees in May.

    Local Spring Valley students who received degrees and their fields of study are:

    • Claire Arneson, Arts and Sciences, Bachelor of Science, physics and mathematics.
    • Andrea Blegen, Nursing and Health Sciences, Doctor of Nursing Practice, nursing.
    • Emily Boisen, Arts and Sciences, Bachelor of Science, integrated strategic communication.

  • Chase Lee is Pierce County Ag in the Classroom Essay Winner

    SPRING VALLEY, WI – Chase Lee, a fourth-grade student from Spring Valley, is the Pierce County winner of the Agriculture in the Classroom essay contest. Chase is the son of Brandon Lee and Monica Zignego. Mrs. Stevens is his fourth-grade teacher at Spring Valley Elementary. 

  • Elmwood and Spring Valley School Districts to receive TEACH grants

    MADISON, WI – Governor Scott Walker visited the Mosinee School District has announced 252 school districts in Wisconsin were awarded $7.8 million in Technology for Educational Achievement (TEACH) Information Technology Infrastructure grants.

  • SPRING VALLEY, WI - While the Spring Valley softball season wasn’t very productive, there were many bright spots in the season and a lot of player development.

    One of those bright spots was the play of senior Tessa Cipriano.

    Cipriano led the Cardinals offense, and much of the league, finishing the season hitting .528 over 14 games played, the highest average among everyday players in the Dunn-St. Croix Conference.

  • Spring Valley’s Brooks plans to continue program

    RIVER FALLS, WI – With his graduation from Chippewa Valley Technical College’s Electromechanical Maintenance Technician program Thursday, May 17, Jordan Brooks has a credential in hand that would set him up with a job at many area manufacturing plants.

  • SPRING VALLEY, WI – While the season ended, and the Cardinals reign of four straight conference championships ended as well, Spring Valley was represented well on the D-SC All-Conference teams.

    The Cardinals earned four spots on the various teams, led by sophomore Aaron Borgerding’s first team selection.

    Borgerding led the Cardinals with a .474 batting average on the season over 14 games. The sophomore had 18 hits in 38 at-bats on the season, leading the team with 16 RBI’s. He was just a clutch hitter.

  • Tyler Leach is new 2018 D3 State Golf Champion

    SPRING VALLEY, WI – Tyler Leach graduated from Spring Valley High School with Honors on Saturday, May 26, 2018, but he had one more honor to accomplish as part of his high school career.

  • Spring Valley High School Senior Awards presented

    SPRING VALLEY, WI – On Wednesday night, May 16, 2018, 200 people gathered at the Spring Valley High School Commons to recognize the accomplishments of the forty-seven students graduating as the SVHS Class of 2018. 

  • CADOTT, WI - The WIAA Regional track meet marks the end of the regular season for track and the beginning of the trip to state, as does the D-SC conference meet, which happened last week.

    D-SC Conference Meet - The Cardinals placed just one conference champion at the D-SC Conference Meet in Mondovi last week, the girls’ 4x200 meter relay team of Erin Stans, Shye Klatt, Maddie Jacobson and Briana O’Brien.

  • SPRING VALLEY, WI - The Cardinal baseball team finalized their regular season schedule with a win over Colfax this past Monday. Valley gets another shot, right here at home, against the Vikings again today in the WIAA opening round match-up.

    Last week the Cardinals were up and down, losing a tough 10-inning game at Mondovi, beating Pepin-Alma in five innings, then losing to Elk Mound in a tough seven inning game.

  • Play 60 Reward Summit

    SPRING VALLEY, WI – On May 2, 2018 five Spring Valley "Play 60" Middle School Students, Abby Thompson, Wyatt Goveronski, Diego Schmitt, Joel Anderson and Tyra Johnson, along with Ms. Gould - Play 60 Advisor and Mr. Donath, all travelled to Green Bay and had an amazing day at the "Fuel Greatness Student Ambassador Reward Summit."

  • COLFAX, WI - It came down to the final meet for the Spring Valley Golf Team. This past Monday night the Cardinals went into the 18-hole conference finale in second place with 30 points, just one point behind first place Durand. But with an 18-hole event, points were doubled, and the Cardinals knew they would have to win the meet to win the conference championship, anything else wouldn’t do.

  • SPRING VALLEY, WI - A win just has not materialized for the Spring Valley softball team yet this year, but that doesn’t mean there hasn’t been successes.

    “We have been our own worst enemy in the field,” said Head Coach Ron Cipriano. “We are giving teams extra outs every game, and when we do that, we give them opportunities to score more runs. But we are cutting down on some of those errors, now we just need to give more of an effort.”
